Love Shack
Howard’s sister Sheryl sent us a gingerbread lobster shack for the holidays. Between one thing and another, we never got around to putting it together.
Today, I picked up Valentine’s Day candy, and Howard and I made a love shack instead of a Christmas-themed building. We had a lot of fun with the decorations: Conversation Hearts, Twizzlers, Hot Tamales, dark chocolate Hershey’s kisses, and lots and lots of royal icing for glue.
Neither of us ever had put together a gingerbread house before. Our construction skills are far from perfect. Good thing it was gingerbread and not bricks and mortar.
Our love shack is proudly displayed on the dining room table in anticipation of Valentine’s Day next weekend.

love what you did with the house……….. very cute!!!!
question-was it a regular gingerbread house- i thought it was suppose to be a loster shack which i not sure how different the base can be..
It was a regular gingerbread house that also came with two lobsters (see them on the roof?) and a lobster trap, which is the right of the front door (facing the house). I guess those accessories made it a “lobster shack”. It was fun!
OMG – you guys are TOOOOO cute!! I especially like your initials on the side of the shack. Happy Valentine’s Day!!
Hey, you could start a whole new trend with this – love shacks for v-day! so clever. I will never think of those unassuming lobster shacks/gingerbread houses in the same way again ; ) So, are lobsters on the menu this weekend?
I am glad to see the love fire burns as bright as ever!
